TennCare
- As of January 1, the Department of Human Services is no longer offering in-person TennCare assistance. Consumers seeking assistance at a DHS office will be directed to a computer kiosk where they can complete a Marketplace application. Consumers may also be given the phone number for the Marketplace Call Center.
- The Tennessee Health Connection has been established to answer questions consumers may have about TennCare. The number for Tennessee Health Connection is 1-855-259-0701.
- Until Tennessee’s new eligibility determination system is up and running, Tennessee is a “determination” state. This means that in order for an applicant to be enrolled in TennCare in a Modified Adjusted Gross Income (i.e. income-related) category, he or she will need to apply through the Marketplace. The Marketplace will make the determination about TennCare eligibility.
- Pregnant women and women with breast/cervical cancer should still go to their local health department for TennCare screening.
- People applying for CHOICES can call their Area Agency on Aging and Disability. You can find the office that serves your region here: http://www.state.tn.us/comaging/localarea.html. They can also call the Tennessee Health Connection call center at 1-855-259-0701.
- People applying for DIDD can call Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at 615-532-6552, or Tennessee Health Connection at 1-855-259-0701.
- People applying for Medically Needy Spend Down, Pickle, and DAC should apply with the TN Health Connection, and with the Marketplace
