Review for Comment

Buffalo Valley, Inc. is applying to the HUD NSP2 grant.  The proposed target area will be "high need census tracts" (as defined by HUD) in Bedford, Cheatham, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Sumner, Trousdale, Wayne, Williams Counties.  We anticipate that the amount of funding will be approximately ten million dollars and will be used for the purchase and renovation of foreclosed houses in these census tracts beautifying the neighborhoods and increasing home values and neighborhood stabilization.  The houses will be owned and operated by BVI as affordable housing for local citizens with at least 25% of the houses for persons who make less than 50% of the area median income and the rest for persons making less than 120% of median income, as required by the grant.  We invite public comments in response to this announcements and invite anyone to send your comments to jrisner@buffalovalley.org or you can mail them to Jerry Risner, BVI, PO Box 879, Hohenwald, TN 38462 ATT: NSP2
